UVSQ-SAT Mission

UVSQ-SAT is a CubeSat mission launched in January 2021, dedicated to measuring Earth's Radiation Budget (ERB) and Soolar Irradiance (SSI) in the Herzberg continuum (200-242 nm).

Key Features

  • Design: 1U CubeSat (10×10×10 cm).
  • Mass: ~1 kg.
  • Orbit: Sun-synchronous LEO (~500 km altitude).
  • Lifetime: Launched: January 24,2021. Decayed: October 27,2024.

Scientific Objectives

Primary mission goals include:

  • Measure outgoing longwave radiation (OLR).
  • UV sensor for solar irradiance monitoring.
  • Study Earth's Radiation Budget (ERB).

Inovations:

  • First French CubSat to measure ERB with miniaturized instruments.
  • Integrated amateur radio transponder (437.020 MHz) for community engagement.
